Launch of the Evaluation of DANIDA Niger Country Programme 2009-2018

On behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, ADE is carrying out a country strategy and program evaluation in Niger covering the period 2009-2018.

This evaluation has both an accountability and forward-looking dimension. It aims to assess Denmark’s overall contribution to the progress of Niger in terms of peace, stability and democracy. It also has an important learning dimension on (i) how to conduct an evaluation in a fragile state context, including when field work is required; and (ii) on aid delivery modalities: what can we learn from the fact that Danida closed its office in Niger in 2014.

This evaluation will provide lessons and recommendations which will feed into the development of the new strategy of the Danish cooperation with Niger.
