IDH Farmfit Africa Impact Evaluation
This evaluation assesses the impact of the Farmfit Africa Programme implemented by The Sustainable Trade Initiative (IDH). The specific objectives are the evaluation of the Farmfit approach and outcomes of the Programme. The assignment ultimately leads to an assessment of IDH contribution to the outcome and (where applicable) impact changes proposed in the theory of change at the Programme level. The temporal scope of this evaluation is the 2019-2023 period. The evaluation focuses on the Business Support and Intelligence pillars of Farmfit Africa that is expected to result in a portfolio of 25 technical assistance (TA) projects and 39 service delivery model (SDM) studies in Sub-Saharan Africa. The evaluation is largely desk review-based and entails a portfolio analysis and a total of five in-depth case studies, two at mid-term and three at end-line. This assignment includes facilitation of the learning process and reflection on the plausibility of the theory of change, exploration of the way the theory of change is operationalised, and, ultimately, assessment of the effectiveness of Farmfit Africa in reaching the intended outcome and impact.
