Evaluation of the EU cooperation with the United Nations in external action
? The Directorate Generals for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations (DG NEAR) and for International Partnerships (DG INTPA) of the European Commission carried out an "Evaluation of the EU cooperation with the United Nations” during the multiannual financial framework 2014-2020.
? The evaluation studied both the mechanisms for actual implementation and delivery of support, including the visibility and communication of EU funding, and how effective and efficient it is, and the mechanisms for policy dialogue, programming and cooperation.
? The evaluation focused on the 5 priority fields of action of the Commission: Green Deal, Transition to a new digital era, Sustainable economic and human and social development, Peace, security and governance, Migration and forced displacement.
? It targeted in particular the EU cooperation, both operational and political, with the UN entities with which the EU has already a substantial and strategic relationship in this fields. The following entities were taken into consideration: UN Secretariat, UNDP, FAO, UNICEF, UNOPS, IOM, WHO, UNEP, UNESCO, UNIDO, UNHCR, The United Nations Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs (DPPA), UNODC, IAEA UN Women, ILO.
