Training in the Evaluation of Agricultural Products Information and Promotion Programmes

The half-day training in evaluation practices of SMART objectives of information and promotion programmes for agricultural projects co-funded by DG AGRI took place on 23 April 2010. The objective was to present participants possible approaches to the evaluation of information and promotion programmes for agricultural projects and to have them be applied adequately. More specifically, the training sessions aimed to: • underline the importance of the evaluation of agricultural projects’ information and promotion programmes and the associated difficulties and challenges; • review applicable evaluation methods, both at the level of global objectives (increasing reputation for instance) as well as for specific information and promotion actions, whether « above the line » actions (TV spot for instance) or « below the line » actions (poster, for instance) ; • examine the advantages and disadvantages of these methods
