Mid-Term Evaluation of the Project “EU-China Trade Projectt II (EUCTP II)”

The EU-China Trade Project II (EUCTP II) runs from 2010 to 2015 and has at aim to strategically support the Chinese government’s rapid trade reform as part of a wider sustainable development process and to provide technical assistance under the various EU-China sector trade dialogues and working groups. The overall objective of the present project was to assess the extent to which the project had achieved its objectives and to verify the conditions for its successful completion. The specific objectives of the project were: (1) To assess the achievements of the Project, with regard to relevance, design, efficiency, effectiveness, impact and sustainability of the various interventions, taking into account the context and the realities on the ground. (2) To provide an overview of the perceived benefit and shortfalls of the project’s activities among stakeholders and assess whether this information can contribute to a more efficient and effective communication and visibility measures. (3) To draw conclusions and lessons learned to be used into the ongoing project implementation in order to improve the Project’s performance and increase prospects for achieving its aims.
