Appui à la mise en place de l’ANIE
The Chadian economy remained dependent on primary industry. This dependence leads to a vulnerability of the economy due to its climatic variations/changes and volatility of raw materials prices on international markets.
The National Strategy for Poverty Reduction was adopted in June 2003 by the government. It attaches great importance to the diversification of the economy as a factor for growth, employment creation and poverty reduction. Trade policy is also integrated in order to fight against poverty.
The Country Strategy Paper for the programming of the 10th European Development Fund specifies that trade policy is an important element for human and economic development.
In this context, a financing agreement for a Trade Support Project in Chad has been signed. One of the outcomes of this project is that the National Agency for Investment and Export and the future guarantee fund have the ability to effectively promote new productive investments in favor of SME/SMIs.
With the changes already appeared and current variations in the international economic environment, companies are facing an increased international competition. Chad is more than ever called upon to encourage and promote investments and improve the access of export products to markets, to enhance competitiveness in the international market.
The lack of support and assistance structures, which can help traders, is holding back the development of the private sector. Accordingly, the technical assisistance aims to support the establishment of the National Agency for Investment and Export to promote productive investment in SMEs in Chad.
