Support for the 11th European Development Fund programming for Central Africa
For 20 years, the European Union supports the process of regional integration in Central Africa, mainly in the sectors of integrated markets, regional institution strengthening, private sector development, and interconnection of infrastructure networks. Under the 10th EDF, regional cooperation has acquired a new dimension with the preparation of Economic Partnership Agreements and greater emphasis on the political dimension of this cooperation. Thanks to this change, from the 9th to the 10th EDF the financial allocation for regional cooperation has doubled.
The overall objective of the mission is to support the region during the first phase of the programming exercise to define the EU support to the process of regional integration, for the period 2014-2020.
The specific objective is to support the region in the preparation of programming documents assessing regional development plans to clarify existing priorities of the region, and support the preparation of the EU's response to these priorities through the 11th EDF (choice of intervention sectors, specific objectives and potential activities proposed for each sector, identifying potential actors for the implementation etc.).
