Research and Technological Development & Innovation Initiatives & Strategies - PMU at the Higher Council for Science and Technology (HCST) EuropeAid/125530/C/SER/JO

The project has provided a technical assistance to strengthen the management unit of the Higher Council for Science and Technolgy (HCST) in Jordan. One of the objective of the technical assistance was to strengthen the capacity of the management unit team. In order to do that, the technical assistance has: • Developped the understanding and knowledge of EU funded programmes on research, innovation and sustainable development; • Developped an information system for disseminating information on these EU funded programmes • Strengthen the understanding and knowledge of innovation-based business issues as well as business incubation processes, marketing and business plan drafting, • established two innovation-driven business incubators to select new innovation-based project, • Developped the understanding and knowledge of intellectual property rights, patents issues, technology transfer techniques and commercialisation issues. • organised study visits to EU public and private entities and business incubators, • Strenghten the management unit for administrative, communication and financial issues. In addition, the technical assistance has also developped a network between professionals in technological research and innovation in order to strenghten relations between the research community and the private sector in Jordan and with the European Union
